Is my conclusion right below? I'm 'learning' quickly and it’s hurting my head.
My 165mm primato crankset also came with JIS written on them but I only read / noticed this after my LBS fitted them to the ISO 107 Primato BB I supplied (I’d assumed the crankset was ISO). This resulted in only 1-2mm crankarm/chainstay clearance. Not enough. I read on Sheldon Brown that JIS crank on ISO BB brings the crank arm 4.5mm further in /closer to the frame. So if I now get the same size 107mm JIS BB I’d have 5.5-6.5mm crank/chain stay clearance (1-2 + 4.5mm lost by JIS crank on ISO BB).
Is my thinking correct? I only want to but one more BB. Appreciate the advice.
(Will have a 107mm ISO Primato BB for sale if anyone’s interested. Fitted but unused)
