• Polished Cinelli 1A, 70mm, 26.4mm clamp. De-anodised and polished by my own fair hand to a mirror finish last summer. Surface condition is visible in the pics - not perfect but still looks great. With that in mind, I'm asking £45, £48 posted.

  • How much?

  • crack is expensive you know

  • April 1st has long gone..................

  • Would be keen if sensible price

  • What's a sensible price? They go for £25 un-polished and it took all day to do

  • and?

  • ...and you either pay for the time invested in something or you do it yourself. It's called capitalism.

  • Glws...

  • If anyone would care to contribute what they feel is a sensible price to this thread and then I can decide whether or not it's worth selling or putting in the bits box. Tired forum clichés we are not short of...

  • Honestly, I would say around the £25 mark.
1A and XAs go for anywhere between £5 and £20 here, I'm not sure people are going to pay much for your time. Sorry man.
    eBay possibly would though.

  • Thanks for your input. I paid £20, £24 with delivery from Hilary Stone, so to let it go for the same price after spending a long arduous day polishing it isn't something I can do.

I'll drop it to £40 posted and if nobody is interested I'll bung it in the box and put it on the next beater.

    Thanks

  • Polishing is easy when you know how. Seems like you don't really know how yet. Stem isn't worth the asking price because it's still heavily scratched despite being shiny.

  • Tough crowd.
Selling the Record Pista hub body?

  • Please, regale us with your time saving polishing tips. Should I be aiming for a about 30 mins or less?

  • OK i've done a fair bit of polishing recently (no inuendos please matron!!) and using the right combo of abrasives, stems take about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 to get to a high polish finish. In my opinion, far superior to anodising anyway (that's far quicker hence big comps do it) because what magpie can resisit a shiny bit af alu but who am i to say. But let's face it (as i have to at my cost in time), you can saturate the value of something for little return and only the eventual paying recipient glows in the dark! Live and learn baby!!!!!

  • I'm polishing mine this weekend, we can compare times and who has the shiniest. My technique has been finely honed recently mind, quick and smooth mmmmm.

  • Don't neglect the balls. And remember, anything less than 2 minutes AND YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!!!!
