raspberry pi, perfect for the job surely?
also, why did tester change organist to onanist in the plumbed in organ debacle up there^? I didn't get the joke, if it was one, unless it was a subtle bit of calling someone a wanker on the internet, which I did get, but will refer to my previous comments on the role of onan in the bible.
I assumed it was some classic tester 'humour'...

Can anyone advise me where is best (cheapest) to buy replacement Phil Wood hub bearings from?
Also, clarify which model number I need to replace the bearings in my Paul track hubs....
-
• #44904
Why dontchya like, look at the bearings with your eyes
If cheapness is your priority, surely generic is better than official paul/phill wood components.
-
• #44905
Nah I don't mind paying for the quality bearings, would just rather pay as little as possible for them.
The wheels are on the bike I ride everyday, to have a look at the bearings I'd have to dismantle the hubs, then reassemble them while I wait for replacements, would rather just dismantle the once to fit them...

Got a seized square taper BB and drive-side crank. Tried crank puller, stripped the threads, tried bashing, tried heating it up on a stove. My next plan was to buy a new junior hacksaw blade and cut across the crank arm where it grabs the spindle until it comes off.
It's a plain old Suntour triple, similar-looking to a Sugino XD. I have a new chainset, is there any point at all in NOT cutting this thing off?
Annoying thing is these two parts were only put together a little more than a year ago.

Simply bearings co uk, reference mfrs websites or eyeball the bearings for numbers

I am all about the grease, but I guess my LBS didn't put enough in when they did it last year. There looked to be some on the non-drive side, that came off easily.
Never mind, I've been meaning to buy new saw blades for a while.

Just to be sure, you used the correct crank puller, and not one designed for octa-link?
Also, the hammer approach, you gotta give it a serious whack...

I've bought my last few sets of bearings from this place.

i've got these cranks, .... campy record pista
can someone just confirm that they have italian threading for the pedals ? i have tried some pedals that fit some old shimano golden arrow cranks but they didn't go in smoothly...... i didn't force them don't worry ... they became too tight to screw in by hand so i removed them
what pedal option do i have without emptying the old bank account ? -
• #44913
Yeah, it worked fine for the left side, I took the little T-shaped adaptor out, screwed into as many threads as I could.
I could get one of those ball joint removers or go to a bike shop and have an oversize thread cut to use a different puller, but I think I'll just consign that particular arm to oblivion.

If it's still on the bike, loosen off the crank bolt, then go for a ride and mash it up a big hill. -

I need to hire a whiteboard. Any recommendations?

what pedal option do i have without emptying the old bank account ?I'm 99.99% sure they take regular pedals, might just be slight deform to the threads or even grit/dirt/grime...
Try blasting them out with GT85 or WD40, maybe a quick whirl with a toothbrush... Or possibly chase the threads.
Although, as always with advice given on this stuff, I'd seek a second opinion.

i've got these cranks,
Those actual cranks? Because those ones are clearly marked 9/16×20F next to the pedal threads.
-
• #44918
welll actually that image is taken from t'interweb i ass-u-me-d ( yes i know what assuming means ) that campy might make all their cranks identically
i'll take a look at the sizing and the marking on the cranks to give a more accurate description of said cranksdid they do JIS and italian on their cranks ?

How much is the going rate for a S951 Red Crankset with 50/36 Red rings on it? Maybe 500 miles on them, a few superficial scratches to the coating.
I want some Rotors

Hadn't heard of these, sounds aweosme.
Raspberry Pi has no WiFi and you will need to get a case.
Look into getting MK802III (search on ebay )
- Runs Android (can run Linux)
- HDMI out
- WiFi b/g/n
- Size of a USB stick
- Quad Core GPU (3D acceleration)
- Dual Core ARM CPU
- 8GB onboard storgage
Far more superior to Pi and you can get one for £40 .

It's against the rules to put Rotor on a Cannondale, must be Hollowgrams.

And the cranks on your Cannondale track are?

When Hollowgrams look better and offer me ludicrous staff discount, I'll play by the rules. Until then call me Jimmy Dean

Ones that fit into a BSA shell.

^^^^ I've ordered one of these alongside a Raspberry Pi to have a play with it. If I end up using the MK802 the Pi will always come in handy as a kids bedroom xmbc to velcro behind the telly
