Rider down about 8am this morning, closed the A50 both ways south of Knutsford. Air ambulance arrived about 8:20.

Was keeping my distance and not rubbernecking as I rode through, so I can't describe the colour or shape of the bike, but it was a geared roadbike with brifters. I think the forks were partly white.

POLICE are diverting traffic away from the A50 in Knutsford after an accident between a cyclist and a car.

The incident happened shortly after 7.50am this morning, Wednesday,*close to the junction of Holmes Chapel Road and Middlewich Road on the A50.

A female driving a Vauxhall Corsa was in a collision with a man on a bicycle.

The Air Ambulance was called and he was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital where he is being treated for leg and chest injuries.

Police have closed the A50 in Knutsford town centre at the junction of Goughs Lane. Motorway patrols are helping officers deal with the diversions.
