Apparently someone else found it, couldn't work out the combination for the lock, and he ^ paid £300 to get it off the original finder.
I couldn't see anything about the combination though?

I stumbled across a gold bike but the location doesn’t match up with any of the clues, should I try to bring it in anyway?
Stop! This bike probably belongs to someone else, removing it is theft!.lol

So rattle canning a bunch of crap bikes, locking them with cheapo combi locks set to 7777 and leaving them in random places (outside Evans stores perhaps) would be a bad idea?

First clue:
Aspire to find my golden bike via Manchester CC if you like.
-

Sorry, could you elaborate further? Not sure I'm getting it.
as per original clue, 4 sevens unlock her - the lock placed on the bike had apparently a opening sequence set up to be exactly these numbers.
So if the finder wants to take the bike with him, as a proof, he needs to use this hinted code to unlock the bike from the stand.
Hope this helps. -

from a time when men were men and fork rakes were properly raked
Just seen this, it's a riddle / hunt / game. Find the golden bike, trade it in for a brand new bike.

3 clues for the london bike already up! Any ideas?
Clue 1: Running from Crickdale to Southend this is no bike ride. Mile upon mile of places to hide.
Clue 2: Four wheels and trucks, rather than two. It's busy on Sundays. Enough of a clue?
Clue 3: A Bank that never closes,no need for a key. Take 4 sevens to unlock her, set your prize free
