So, the front derailleur failed and the chain bent it. So I bought off here another chorus front mech and when I tried to install it I realized that the braze on bent as well.
I'm gutted.
Any suggestions?pic:

Try and bend the hanger back into the correct allignment? It's steel so you might get away with that.

My adventure on trying to bend back the braze on ended. I'm going to send it to a frame builder to get it fixed so today I got myself another frame that I'm going to build up with the Pinarello parts for now.
After I get the restored Pinarello I'm going to put back the old gruppo on it and get another Campagnolo gruppo (modern this time) for this funky Nago. -

Just out of interest, where did you get the ferrules for the top tube? The montello takes a weird small size and I can't seem to find any anywhere....Cheers buddy.

New hoods and I think you'll be good for awhile... Sweet ride!

Sorry but I don't really know (it was already cabled when I bought it), I guess they came with the campa cabling set no?
If not is better I'll keep my old ones for the new cabling!

Ok, the Montello is sitting desolated on a corner and i would love to do something with it. The paint conditions are bad but it's a waste to don't use such a good frameset, so for now i would love to build it as a cruiser/beater.
I was either planning to go full Ofmega group (Master or Mistral), leaving it in a roadie stance, or either stuck on it a modern group as a black Sram rival with risers, mtb shifters and funky cabling...
Any suggestions? -

So far I gathered these parts, at the end I will go for a graphite finish Campagnolo chorus from the C-era.
Grabbed a black Chris King threaded sottovoce head set and NOS fluo pink brake cableset and Silva tape.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8893904/montello/cables.jpgThis is the frameset atm
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8893904/montello/frameset.jpgI bought these (waiting for deliver)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8893904/montello/brakes.JPGand next is going to be:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8893904/montello/cranks.JPGSo I'm planning to complete the black campy groupset and fit black seatpost and stem as well... now I'm waiting for a 27.2 to come out on ebay, just like this:
the pink tape and cables are going to kick I think

In the process I got 2 pairs of nos Croce d'Aune levers, the one with white hoods arrived first, but i think I'll go for the black ones considering the pink fluo bits.
The brakeset at the end was a 1991 Xenon, really bad "plastic coated" finish, so I found a pair of graphite CdA Delta... waiting for the rear derailleur to arrive, then it will be finished I guess.
I went for a Nitto S65 black seatpost, a 3ttt Record stem and 3ttt Competizione Gimondi bars. Can't wait to see the final result.

rear derailleur arrived, never seen a Chorus derailleur with the possibility of changing the geo of it to fit big cogs...

received the delta brakeset in graphite.
Now that the bike is almost complete I feel like going for yellow tape instead of pink... -

What's wrong with black tape?
Are you getting new decals? http://www.velociao.com/2011/pinarello-decals/

I have black tape in all my bikes, and for this I was thinking of something more funky... Tempted as well to mask the fades (what's left actually) and spray some fluo pink one and wrap the bars pink as well like the brake cables.
Not sure about new decals as well... As long the old ones were scratched away you can see the "step" between clear coat and paint, and new decals will work only if they are the exact size of the original one. Anybody knows if they are?

I have ordered there and the quality was very disappointing, print marks and smeared out colours, had to bin them (sucks, bloody expensive they are too). Better idea is to get them from Greg Softley over at http://cyclomondo.net/ always solid quality decals.
Don't go for aero whatever you do, not for this build.
