Was last week Saturday a fairly average basic training session?
What's the jump from basic to intermediate like, I'm really looking to stretch my legs and come out feeling tired next week where in beginners I came out feeling like I could have done it again twice more.
It's about skill level and experience on the track rather than fitness. The basic sessions are meant to teach you all you need to know to be safe in the intermediate sessions, once you get to them it's more of a work out. Stick with the basics for 2 more weeks (maybe go out for a little spin on the road afterwards or on sunday for extra training), learn what you need to train safely, then come to intermediates and/or monday race training.
