Can this be closed but not deleted? http://www.lfgss.com/thread99506-8.html
seem to have lost the option to do that from the drop-down menu
-
• #11081
I thought the option for the thread starter to close it existed only for classifieds threads?
Why close it, anyway?

The server seems to be really busy at the moment, I can only apologise and as soon as you let me know this is happening I'll do something about it.
Alternatively you can let me know at david@londonfgss.com
As for what to do, perhaps a cup of tea would help pass the time until it's all working again.I've just brushed my teeth, so i'll pass on the tea, thanking you.

Quick suggestion: I've encountered at least one person who's involved in a bike charity/recycling scheme. They seemed really grateful when I bunged a few low value parts their way. Would it be possible to put a sticky on the Wanted board so that anyone who is involved in such a scheme can make requests for cheap/freecycle parts or just generally make themselves known so that people having clearouts can send stuff to them?
Ideally this would hinge on these people proving to the LFGSS overlords that they do actually work for/run such a scheme, otherwise it might lose some credibility.

It's a good idea. As there aren't too many schemes around, it's not too onerous to channel donations in the right direction, though.

Could this http://www.lfgss.com/thread105948.html be made sticky in the rides forum please?

Not my thread, but spent a while searching for it... Could this be re-named something like
"Bicycle Aesthetics and Photography - How to take photos of your bike"
https://www.lfgss.com/thread54392.html
?

Doesn't warrant its own thread - maybe merge with AQA.

As suggested by Fausto, this could probably do with another thread title, e.g. '2013-06-01 Cycling Club Hackney Track Day at Herne Hill, mock international competition' or something like that.
