I was turning right this morning, sitting about a foot to the left of the white line, waiting for a gap. My spidey-senses tingled, and I looked over my left shoulder to see a taxi buzz me within about 6 inches, probably doing 30mph.
I went after him and asked what he was doing. He said I was in the middle of the road. I agreed that this was true. I said I was waiting to turn right. He asked why I didn't have my arm out.
Confused. So he saw me, but I didn't have my arm out, so he buzzed me. If I had my arm out, would he have given me space? Am I supposed to have my arm out constantly, being smacked on the wrist by oncoming traffic?

Meh.
