The reality is you'll end up in a clusterfuck with the Rapha ride and two dozen nodders who have (also) decided to mash their bikes round RP now there is a bit of nice weather. You need to be honest with yourselves about this.
At least the Rapha ride can lay some claim to the road though, as they have been at it every Thursday since mid winter.
