  • any pics from last night yet?

    Photos from track league?

    U mad bro?

  • There was someone there with an SLR, big lens and flash taking pics on the first corner
Maybe it was old skool film

  • Who's the beard?

  • That's me, didn't realise how upright I am on that bike :/

  • Everyone is, so I guess it's the neutralised bit of the warm-up race?

  • Nope, I was late getting there so missed the warm up race.

  • These ought to sort you out:

  • I'm going to have to front up and commute on my track bike (with a brake fitted), because there is no way I am missing out on this next week.

Laner - you realise you face discplining for competing in non-club colours? You'll no doubt be referred to the appropriate committee.

Thats me, far right, in London Phoenix colours

  • Ah, OK.

    DP kit, tremendous yellow helmet.

  • Didn't realise we had to wear team kit, will dress appropriately next week

  • Isn't it like the SERRL rules which say no kit for teams you aren't a member of (i.e. no pro team kit)?

So LFGSS jersey would be fine?

  • Here we go, from BC rulebook.

8.1.2 When competing under these Regulations riders (other
than as provided in T.R. 8.1.8 and 8.1.9) shall wear
Club or Region registered design and colours, as is
    appropriate.

8.1.9 In Road and Track events, Youth, Fourth and
Provisional category licence holders and BC non
licence holders will be allowed to wear any suitable
clothing whilst competing in events under the
Technical Regulations of the Federation, including that
bearing registered or unregistered advertising except
in the case of National Championships when they
must comply with T.R. 8.1.1 to 8.1.6. However
    protective headgear must be worn.

So, you can wear what you like if you're a fourth cat or provisional.

  • So, you can wear what you like if you're a fourth cat

Thems the rules. Unless your club expressly forbids it, but then that's down to your club and how they view it. Doesn't stop you racing.

But guys, seriously, caps? 3/4 bibs? Come on you're all wealthy buyers, get the right equipment and use it the right way (as Ron Dennis used to say).

As for the funny upright, curved back positions: the flexibility will come, but you need to work on it, lower the bars, get a longer stem and practice riding with your elbows slightly bent and your back in an aero position (don't forget to keep looking ahead).

And just because there's a neutral lap at the start doesn't mean you should be riding off holding the tops, get on those drops, damn you.

  • Do you think Dimi would get away with wearing a jersey bearing the marque of his bike?

And re. hands on tops - yeah I know, I'm just trying to be down with the yoofs.

Andy, you must know by now that a single bicycle cannot be ridden for more than one second within the M25 without a menagerie of camera-toting hipsters suddenly appearing to document every moment.

  • John M's a hipster?

  • And re. hands on tops - yeah I know, I'm just trying to be down with the yoofs.

You probably noticed that a 'free' lap can still be quite fast quite quickly and people will be trying to get themselves into a decent position early on, you want to be in the racing position for this.

You can ride on the tops later, when you're doing your victory lap*

*It's expected that all riders in the top 10 of any race do a victory lap, nice and slow, soak up the atmos and wave at your fans. Don't worry about the riders waiting to start the next race, they won't mind waiting and neither will the judges.

  • John M's a hipster?

What else did you think he was?

  • Didn't realise we had to wear team kit, will dress appropriately next week

    I was being sarcastic.

Still, hopefully you can get the white summer kit because it is awesome.

  • The "rude bike" gets a mention.

  • I think it is time to create a list of 'avatar' names against rider number as it is not always obvious who is posting. This also means we could actually converse face to face on Wednesday nights!

Avatar Name = Rider No = Club (if applicable)

    colinsmith123 = 15 = WKRC

    dimi3 = 61 = Tokyo × Morvelo / Rollapaluza
