  • Yeah I was expecting that response, it's probably justified. I'm certainly much slower and louder now when approaching that crossing point.

    The problem is that here in Kenya there's no infrastructure nor guidelines to handle this clash of ped vs. road user. There are no ped. crossing lights, so people are continually crossing at that spot - popping out every two seconds like a video game. It's my right of way there, not that anyone thinks that way here in Kenya. No-one will stop to let you through either, it's every man for himself. You just poke your nose in and deal with it.

    It's these sorts of clashes on an unregulated highway which led to the UK's adoption of lights, lanes, ped crossings, right-of-way etc.
