• Hi everyone, long time no see,
I’ve just been sorting some bikes that have come in accidentally with other bikes and frames.

This time I have fixed conversion on a 1990s Peugeot frame and rather MBK Triathlon model road bike that needs tidying.

Shipping on bikes within the UK will be £20 – other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.

PLEASE NOTE that I am now based near EBBW VALE IN SOUTH WALES

Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 4%…

** If you dib an item, please PM me and pay the same day unless you make other arrangements with me. Otherwise it may well be sold to the next person who wants it...**

Viewing/Personal collection is welcome as quite a few have found and have been able to get other parts they are looking for at the same time.

I can meet people at either Ebbw Vale Parkway or Pontypool & New Inn stations and all are welcome to visit me but please ring first. You will get a warm welcome if you wish to make the journey.

    PEUGEOT FIXED CONVERSION
    Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
    Wheel size: 700C
This Peugeot conversion came to me exactly pictured, it seems to work just fine – the chain is pretty well aligned, essential for a fixed conversion. It has a Campag Chorus chainset using a single 42T chainring combined with a 16T rear sprocket which gives about a 70in gear which would be fine for most riders. The chain is a bit rusty but I’ll throw in a better chain. The rear wheel is built on a steel rear hub – I don’t think it would stand up to a lot of use but the rim could be rebuilt onto a better hub… The front wheel has a Campag Tipo hub on a deepish section aero rim – so very useable. It has rather nice Galli steel grey brake callipers combined with Dia-Compe aero brake levers. £110

    MBK TRIATHLON ROAD BIKE c1988**
    Seat Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
    Frame tubing; Columbus Cromor
    Wheel size: 700C
These MBK frames ride really rather well and are built from Cromor tubing which is reasonably light and strong. The seatpost clamp is an especially neat design whilst the fillet brazed construction is also really rather good. Its equipped with Shimano 105 gears, headset, chainset, brake levers and 600 brake callipers. Wheels are Shimano 105 hubs with Rigida narrow section rims and some rather awful white spokes – whoever thought that was cool at MBK needed their head tested… And engraved MBK bars. But it does have a white Turbo saddle that does have (I think at least) cool patina. Its all in pretty sound condition and fresh bar tape would improve its appearance greatly. £165

  • These MBK frames ride really rather well

I remember Robert Millar saying they should have been known as "Made By Klingons" as they rode so poor (and they were the pro ones)

I did have a "Super Mistral" though, and always wanted the one they made with the shortened rear triangle, Think Lotto rode them in the 90's

    Good luck....
