"Oh Shit" moments...

I floored a pedestrian this morning. My first proper accident in Kenya, after eight months.

Standard raft of people crossing the road where it joins Westlands roundabout (site of my previous lorry Oh Shit moment). I face this daily, and you just learn to judge where the gaps are going to be.

One gentleman, half way across the road, decides he'd like to:

• turn to face me and stop abruptly,
  
• stare into my eyes like a frightened bambi,
  
• receive an ergo lever in the liver,
  
• fly with me through the air for a very brief moment,
  
• scramble to his feet,
  
• walk off clutching his arm, pausing momentarily to look at me in horror
  
  

I wonder why the guy didn't speak to me afterwards. I guess being knocked over by a strange looking white man in full lycra is comparable to being assaulted by an alien. Also perhaps he didn't have much English.
