  • Lots of lovely KMs hereabouts at the moment, thanks in part to the lush steel offerings of (now banned !) Vintagekogamiyata. The market may (have been) swamped but this is a cracker. Believe me - this is a reluctant sale. Purchased from Peter V and ridden with care and love since. I've made a few component upgrades so I want a bit more than I paid Peter but I'm not trying to recoup it all so I think this represents a nice little ride for the £270 I'm asking.

No posting. Dibs for clarity then PM please. Pick up Mile End or could meet within reason if the sale is sure.

    The details:

KM 82 Road Champ in Miyata Hi-Manga steel. TT 54cm ctc. ST 53cm ctc. This has been ridden but it's lovely. Scuffs and nicks are visible in the pics. No dents at all. Paint and decals look ace for a 30+ year old bike.

105 crank and rear mech. Suntour front.
    From new Tektro R539 brakes.
    Nitto Noodle bars from new.
    Shimano RX100 levers.
    Pretty 3ttt stem.
Sexy 600 seatpost with a few scuffs but cool.
    Concor Saddle.
    Schwalbe Durano Plus 25c tyres.
Shimano 600 hubs on Mavic 4CDs. Apparently there's some play to the free hub on inspection but they ride well and are true.
MKS GR9 pedals with deep clips and Christophe straps. Would swap for 600 clips if the buyer prefers.

I love this bike. I'd rather keep it but needs must and its been benched for months so we must part company. Great bike around town with eyes for guards etc.

  • I should say that the price from Peter last year was 265 and I've upgraded saddle, stem, bars, wheels, pedals, clips, tyres, seatpost. Am I reaching a bit with the price? Seemed fair to me.

  • looks like a little beauty, what else can you get for under 300 with class, have a bump :)

  • Cheers Chris. At least I know I'm on the right lines.

  • beautiful bike! I am a 5'7-5'7 and a half female, do you think this bike would fit me?

  • I read that as 'half female'. Either way - yep, you're my height. Feel free to come ride it and see.

I reckon anyone from 5'6 - 5'10 could arrange this bike to work for them. At 5'7 it glides me around effortlessly. Obviously people vary in leg length / torso length and riding styles but yeh, give it a go. You're smack in the bracket.

  • Bump and drop. £275

  • Reluctant price drop to get my bump on. £270 - which will bring you quite a bike! Take advantage of my poverty LFGSS!

  • In my opinion a beautiful bike, quite original and well specced. Great value for money, but I already have too many bikes

    Nice post count number!

  • Oooh well spotted! And thanks.

  • Lovely bike, and might even fit me. Sadly I'm not yet in the buying market for a geared roadbike yet.

    So tempting though.

  • Come sniff it Drem. You know it makes sense.

  • I can't believe you're arm hasn't been torn off.
This is an ace bike - looks fab in the metal and is being pretty much given away at this price.

  • I would like this bike! Sorry, I was trying to figure out whether I could get the money together. I can pick it up from you this coming Friday! Cannot PM because I haven't made enough comments yet. It is a GREAT bike!

  • Hi Florence

You have 1st dibs. This entitles you to first refusal on sight of the bike. I'll hold it until Friday. Go make some more comments (one here in response to this for example) and pm me when you are fully fledged. That way we can make arrangements.

    Cheers.

  • Hi Wrongcog,

please let me know if Florence doesn't purchase.

  • Will do.

  • hello, nice bike, a distant 3rd dibs if you are still looking for a buyer. thanks!

  • Thanks Atsushi. Duly noted. Bike held until Friday for 1st dibber.

  • This lovely bicycle now reluctantly gone to a happy and enthusiastic home. Happy riding Florence. Look after it.
