Not if it makes the person riding it happy.
Lots of the things I do are entirely pointless. Riding a bike up to the top of a mountain, only to come straight back down again. Driving long distances so that I can drive round and round and round in circles in an impractical and noisy little car to see whether or not I'm faster than other people in impractical and noisy little cars, and then driving home again. Going up a mountain and then sliding back to where I came from. All utterly pointless. But so what? Makes me happy. Sometimes.
