And the guy who gave it back to you, do you think he was the thief? Did you have to threaten him with anything, or did you just say "I say, that is my bike, could I have it back?"?

Is there anyone out there using Resist Nomad 45c tires? I'd like to know their actual width once fitted. Just fitted 35c on my Brooklyn few days ago and they seem smaller than any other 35c tire I've tryed before. Nothing wrong with what, just wondering if 45c come up smaller too, and if yes, how smaller.
I run 23mm wide rims, if that matters.Any info would be much appreciated.
Here's the beast anyway:

45c?? I highly doubt they would fit, I had a 33.3c tyres on it and it's nearly too big (on stupidly narrow rims);
If the 35c look a little small, could the Nomad be smaller than they're claimed?

XH and Spotter are running the 45s, perhaps they could measure for you.
Pops is also running them, but hers are on wider rims.

^^It seems that they are smaller. I had 35c Panaracer Ribmo, and Continental Tour Ride in there with no problem and they are bigger than Nomads. Biggest tyre I had on the back was 37c Marathon Plus.

This is quite possible. I ran the 45s on my ESB (albeit on 33mm wide rims) where 14 Bike Co. claim a 42c rear clearance.
I think Mark may have another in 45c that perhaps you could try?

I saw he had one on a front yesterday, and that made me think it might fit on a Brooklyn, as tires don't seem to be huge.

I think 45 would be pushing it unless they come up really small. Knobbly Rando Trails in 38 are the biggest I've managed to fit.
Does yours have a brake bridge, Pepe?

obviously you've just fitted them, but so you have any clues on how they hold up to riding brakeless? they look great, i really must get my gangsta stripped.

Wish I could get icon this 'I own a gangsta' conversation. Fuuuuuu!!!

Joe, mine lasted about 3 months on the back of my ESB before I got it thin enough to be puncturing often. Not bad for a £15 tyre.

Yes, mine is a V2. I'm just hoping 45c Nomad size up small enough to fit.

It was first day today I've ridden them, so far I'm happy, but it's a dry day. I'll report back once I used them a bit more, most importantly in the wet, as it's my "any kind of weather" tank.

edward clearly has a thing for white industry cranks and I can see why

I do, when building that Gangsta, I felt it's one of those bike where the WI cranks look great on.
it's 8.5kg as pictured.

Is that helium in the bar bag then?
-
• #76892
Not including the bar bag.

So not "as pictured" then.

Evening chaps, I'm doing up a 1988 Raleigh (thread to come once the nursery malarky's over) which I've sprayed red - hoping the link works - and so my predicament is what colour deep dish rims to go for, either white or black. It has black parts with a chrome seat post and bars (but they're taped over). I'd really appreciate people's opinions!!

I know the feeling.

Up to you, it'll still be ugly regardless of what colour wheels it have.
-
• #76898
what ed meant is go for white rims, summer's soon.

That's what I thought he meant, must have read wrong aha

Had a great first ride on this tonight. The setup works ever so slightly better with the 110mm stem and deep drops than my previous Dolan, and it feels so light and fast that even riding into the wind felt like it took less effort than it should.
All that's remaining is a wig chop and a brake hole drill. Only rode it one mile to Herne Hill brakeless on track gearing, but I'd rather not do that again.
I also have my eye on some new wheels at some point soon, so the beater Dolan can have these Pro Lites. Decent wheels, but I paid £20 for them and sometimes that's obvious.
Any damage or missing parts?
