Has it not been decided already that your T-Rex proportions don't really suit compact geo frames?
What Ed said.
Also I'd be designing it to use a BMX stem and wide risers.
Similar to my on one inbred, it's an XL but a with short stem and 760mm bars it's completely fine.
I'd probably be going with a 60cm TT compared to the inbred 64cm.

Why not design a shorter TT and get a normal stem?
Or are you trolling me now?
Fffffffffffuuuuuuuu.

Just get a damn Pompino and start riding.
You already got a nice bike, get an ugly bike you'll trash without any care.

Or get the cheapest Canyon that have a massive headtube for the size.
Can't afford it? Jamis Satellite is extremely T-Rex friendly that you can actually slam that stem and still be comfortable, their 56cm have a headtube as long as your 58cm Seta (with a lower BB).

I have a bike to thrash already, I'm looking for something else :)

Does anyone know if mielec can use fat square tubing?
I'm thinking of building something similar to a gangsta witha fuckload of gussets, fat pipes and compact geo.
Pretty sure Rincewind's first po-lo-pro had square/rectangular chainstays.

And ugly gussets.

mmmm ugly gussets

I wonder would a mielec made gangsta be heavier than the original one. I mean, gangsta is a heavy frame, but looking at those tubes by mielec they must be damn heavy as well.
-
• #3538
I doubt it, steel weighs far more than aluminium of the same area.
-
• #3539
yeh but gangstas, atleast the v2 ones, are true temper. Isnt that somewhat ok tubing anyway? Those square shaped mielec tubes don't look that light.

How much does a gangsta weight?
I can't really see it being under 2kg and I also can't see an alu track frame ever being much over that, even with gussets.

How much does a gangsta weight?
Fuck-all if you don't weight it.
I can't remember, but it's very heavy but ride a lots better than my Dolan for sure.

• #3542
True temper is only double butted 4130. BMX tubing bassically

• #3543
I doubt it, weights mean fuck-all difference
ftfy.

The other half's polish turned up yesterday so I wasted no time building it up for her. Just needs the steerer chopping, brake fitting, bars wrapping and eventually spray the forks black.
Not the greatest of photos but ones its finished will pop some better ones up, they look like great frames wish I had ordered one for myself! No doubt I'll be flying around on this too!

New dropouts? If so... Pics

Anyone know how quickly the mielec guys usually reply to their emails? A week seems .
-
• #3547
Excessive

Experiences seem to vary quite a bit.. Some people get instant replies, most within typical email correspondence times, and the unfortunate few seem to have to wait a certainly excessive week.

I always got a reply the next day

Afternoon, finally got round to building up the bike, run into a problem though. I know someone had the same problem earlier in the thread, wondering if it got resolved?
Completely new headset, definitely correct size, crown race on tight (Been using it on Dolan frame no problems), but when I tighten it up, the crown of the Alpina forks is rubbing on the bottom of the headtube.
Any solutions?
what fork is that?
