Many thanks for your many happy returns, you lovely people.

I nicked off work early and buzzed off over to Hebden Bridge, a lovely little town on the borders of Yorkshire and Lancashire with an astonishing amount of lesbians in residence.

I listened to a Sylvia Plath poetry reading in a book shop, followed by an accoustic set by one of my favourite bands, The Leisure Society. Genuinely beautiful music.

After that I scaled the cobbled hill to Heptonstall, a tiny old village clinging to the tops of the hills in those parts, and paid a visit to Plath's grave.

Probably sounds a bit of a grim day, but It was so great. Sun on my back, tunes in my head, a cigar smoked in quiet contemplation of a beautiful literary firework, and the feel of crooked Yorkshire stone beneath my feet.

I came home to home made burgers and a big cake. Now I'm going to get a bit drunk and maybe play scrabble.

I've not contributed to the forum much over these last months, but it's good to know you daft bastards are still here and know me.

I'll tip a glass of plonk to you all.
