Not exactly plain and chromed but it is a Pinarello, 56cm CTC square, BB shell stamped 58cm as Pinarello measure their tubes weirdly.

Might be a bit big but I've got a 60cm Pinarello Asolo which is in fantastic condition.

Cheers srust, 60 cm is definitely too big unfortunately . I have a beautiful 54cm faggin which i love, but its made me realise the importance of correct frame size, so looking to swap it out!
Sorry for late reply, had my notifications turned off!

Can't help with the chrome but before you write off Aelle read this:

IMHO you can give a reputable frame builder most decent tubes and they will make a good bike. Give an average framebuilder any tube and they will make an average (or worse) bike. The difference between this Pin and one made from say SLX is probably less than 200gms. If you factor that into a total build weight of say 9kg at least (with good wheels/components) it doesn't really make any difference at all. In fact if you're carrying a water bottle, you can make them the same by not filling the bottle on the Aelle bike right to the top! It's easy to get hung up on tubing but the secret to a good bike is more holistic. IMHO. -

Retro thanks for the reality check , you are of course right, Its easy to get carried away (snobby) about frames when reading through bike forums! Great article , I doubt many people could tell the difference especially once built up. Geometry plus the skill and style of the builder has a much bigger impact on the feel and look of the frame. I'm switching my main ride from a modern alu frame so maybe getting hung up on weight saving, I guess I should consider leaving that water bottle half full!

I'm speaking from experience here too, one of my first decent steel road bikes was a Pinarello Veneto, also in Aelle, and it was a really sweet ride - I would never have parted with except I came to accept it was a bit small for me. In comparison I have since owned and/or ridden many of the iconic Italian steel road bikes of the 80's and 90's and many lesser know marques too, and it really is more important that it is built with care, with suitable geometry, and also very importantly that it fits you correctly! Good luck in your search anyway!

My Bertin and Rossin were Aelle, 2 of the best rides I owned...
