• How not to lock your bike>>>>>>

  • Shit, some major whip skids. What rear tyre you running on your skidder?

  • ^^36 spoke radial on a 90mm rim looks rather odd.

Gator skin hardshell, rolls ok but and is fairly puncture resistant, also pretty skid proof.

  • Sorry to quote, more info on this?

Pretty upset blb make it but I may have to buy one.

makes me wanna paint my pro bike stands black

they sell them as a rim for around £240 each in different colours and sizes. they do look nice on the right bike.

  • not convinced - and snowflakes can >>>>>>>>>>>

    .

what exactly is the purpose of doing that to your spokes? It doesnt look safe, not to mention how ridiculous it looks.

  • ^hip. hop.

  • It can increase the radicality of your skids by upwards of 15%

  • snowflakes can look nice they dont do it for me they show skill of the wheel-builder, buckles and flat spots would be a pain.

  • buckles and flat spots would be a pain.

I had a snowflake for over 9 months, 32h 80kg rider, I didnt get any buckles - when done correctly, this pattern is strong as fuck.
Would ride it until now but unfortunately it was attractive to thief's eyes.

  • Snowflakes were quite naughty in about '93 - my mate had Nukeproof hubs and M231 rims with purple anodised nipples and white porcupines on his Orange prestige - considered the height of (xc)slavery back then!

    why upset?
la piovra are made by rychtarski, good builders.

It looks very similar to my Rychtarski but with a different shape fork, it's Columbus tubing so could easily be built by Rychtarski.

1000archangels is correct, Rychtarski frames are very well built!

i have been told that they are strong as people dont ever need to have them trued, the thing about thief's they love fixed gears doesnt matter how shit it is they still nick them they are a smack-ed magnet whats i like near you with attention drawing??

  • ^^There's a guy on here with a cut&shut LaPiovra put together by Ted from the back-end of a trashed lo-pro IIRC it's tight as fuck and really nicely done - I think the build is pretty reasonable too - Phil hubs and SL42 rims, cut down risers - I think it's a peachy pink colour - anyone know this biek - a pic would be good.

  • Many years ago my LBS had a wheelbuilding book living in the workshop, and it had this wonderful quote about snowflake lacing:
"Every serious wheelbuilder who has ever practiced this kind of spoking pattern has sworn to refrain from repeating the error.

Yet, young bike freaks, apprentices and mechanics seem to like this kind of spoking pattern. My advice: Leave them at it and let them continue to show their enjoyment and enthusiasm in this way. It's better to see them rolling spokes than rolling joints."
• Looking forward to when the current range of outrageous tt bikes are repurposed by the kids.

  • Those Fuji were a bastard to set-up, took our mechanic a couple hours to get the hang of it.

  • Chrome trispoke anyone?

  • Yes <<<<<<<<<<<

  • ^^^^^ as I was informed the other day.
