Just came across this one today in my archive. Probably the most radical paint job on a Pinarello ever.

^See CP for increased radness.

Does the Trek have a DA 7700 25th anniversary edition?

I have a Ribble with a similar paint job. Pinarello must have copied.

^omfg!
only serious problem is that stem, why use that ugly stem
-

only.
because the seatpost is fine. -

This guy seems to have used an Ergostem to compensate for a wrong frame size. Otherwise awesome bike!

What other reason is there?

I don't think its the frame size but the bars that are "at fault".

only.
because the seatpost is fine.it doesn't bother me, looks a bit weird but follows the frame

Could be period corrected, either way it look like it fit with the rest of the bicycle IMHO etc. etc.

IMHO
In this instance, your humble opinion is worth even less than usual. The bars are right, the stem is wrong, not just that an ErgoStem has no place there but it is clearly there only because the bike is completely ill fitted for the rider. Based on internet research, all Pinarello Prologos are now owned by people who are clueless about bike fit, otherwise I'd show you what it's supposed to look like. The correct stem is 90-100mm × 73°, e.g. Cinelli 1R or 3ttt Record 84

Can someone educated me please, for once tell me what exactly did opinion become a statement of fact? is saying "could be" actually instil the notion I'm trying to present this as a fact?
-
• #75673
it doesnt.
to say to anybody that his opinion is worth 'even less less than usual' is actually a fucking dickhead thing to say, it coming from an old bitter sod who is spreading assumptions all over the place makes it look even more pathetic now.
nerged accordingly -
