I just read the Argus comments section to laugh out loud at the 'usual suspects' on there. It's amazing what they allow to be posted there.
Anyhow... Back to 20mph limits.
I've found, after a bit of experimenting this week that it makes no difference for me when I use my car. The average commute time to work is the same as it was at 30mph. The traffic lights on the junctions even everything out.

Just to stoke things up here I think the biggest problem as far as speed is concerned are the buses. I've never had a problem with cars at all.
I was on St James Street buying some muscles from the lovely fish mongers (unnecessary back story), when I stepped out a bus was tearing up the road and some fella pulled out a parking space into the road. The bus must have been 50 metres away but immediately sounded his incredibly loud horn. He was going far too fast for that busy road and totally unnecessarily sounded his horn.
It all back fired because the guy driving the car stopped in the middle of the road and got out to 'have a word' with the bus driver.
Rant over.
Yes, you're right. Wimps and bullies. Sad times.
I'm not sure they do but they sure swell the supposed popularity of their 'journalism' (copy writing). Having worked with one of the last remaining proper hacks in Brighton this is no longer journalism. Just regurgating press releases and pimping out advertising space to keep the papers going.
But it's future of local papers.
