Had both eyes lasered 5 years ago.
Pre-lasering, a circular template / suction cup is placed over the middle of each eye while you're looking straight ahead. A jolly little surgeon then comes along and scalpels round each template in one swift motion to leave a little hinge for your cornea to be pulled back like a flap.Then the lasery burnination of the lens begins.

My mum had surgery on her eye recently where she had to be awake. They pushed a big needle into her eyeball, sucked out gloopy blood that had accumulated inside, then pumped the eye with gas to re-pressurise it.
Reminds me of this!
there is no fucking way i'm clicking that. in fact i might throw away my mouse as a precaution against ever clicking that link.
i had a metal shard removed from my eye with tweezers - head in a clamp with magnifying lense attached and dr getting closer and closer - eventually tip of tweezers went beyond / behind line of sight and could only see dr's wrist. wasn't nearly as bad as you'd imagine.
