  • Don't be so silly. It's never too windy for novelty carbon.

  • I can answer that with some authority- no, it is fine.

  • Bar end brake levers for Mavic bullhorns?

Just got some ITM off the forum but they are too big; seems Mavic are the odd one out as the levers fit a all my other bars.

  • There's a skinny version of the Dia Compe 188 that fits thick walled bars down to 16mm ID. It looks like this:

    Not like this:

  • Great, thanks.

  • flat bars with lots of sweep? not those salsa ones.

  • I'm looking to buy a BB off ebay today for a set of Shimano 105 FC-1050 cranks. Anyone know what length I'll need?

  • (spray) Paint and helmets, go together?

I've painted motorcycle ones before but fancy changing the colour of my Giro.

  • Be very careful- a lot of paints will damage the foam core.

  • Rattlecan Halfords probably be what I'd use. Any idea how you tell what'll be ok and what won't?

Remember using modelling foam in college and paint just dissolved it completely.

  • Yeah, I'd think that water based acrylic would be safe enough, but anything with slightly more exiting chemical properties may leave you with some straps, and the plastic shell.

  • Ooh, I can bring home a smashed helmet from work and try on that 1st!

    Google suggests it'll be ok.

  • Any suggestions for bars with a similar drop (173mm and similar length flat section in the drops to Deda Pistas:

...but possibly in the form of road bars, ie horizontal along the top rather than droopy?

  • I think you be hard pressed to find a road drop with 173mm.

If you want to spend more time in the drop, just put road brakes levers on that bar instead?

Deepest drop AFAIK is the 3T Rotundo (add -17 stem too), but I'm sure there's something out there that does have at least 150mm.

  • cinelli crits are quite deep at 144.

It's just for using on the track so levers isn't an option. I'll look at the Rotundos though. The Deda bars are fine really, I was just wondering if there was an alternative which might be more comfortable for riding on the tops.

  • negative stem and nitto noodles would work

  • Couple of conflicting answers across the forurm, Alpina track fork, can it be drilled?

  • It can, but it isn't always easy. Some people report that the blanking/reinforcing screw falls out as soon as you look at it, but mine was well fixed in and had to be drilled out; drilling a steel screw out of an aluminium fork crown isn't easy.

  • Cheers tester

  • I'm looking to get someone to share my office or rent out a desk. Does anyone know the easiest way to go about this other than verbal agreement? I assumed it would be fairly straight forward until I started reading about security of tenure and the like.

MB twetted about a custom lid paintjob recently.. find out what they use?

I fucked my wrist "proper" riding brakeless on the road with those Deda track drops- due to the angle it puts your hands at when riding on the tops.
