That headtube is nearly vertical! And it does look very big. Really nice work though.

Thanks gents. I am pleased the bike meets your approval. I'm even more pleased that it meets mine.
The red tyres happened to be on the wheels when I bought them. When the frame arrived in almost exactly the same colour, I figured it was some sort of omen and decided to keep them.
The next task is to fix the headbadge on properly. Seems it's been put on with chewing gum or something. On my other Gazelle, the headbadge is attached with what look like pins. I suspect they're rivets of some sort (but I'm almost certain they're not bolts or tiny machine screws).
Like this:
Any ideas?
Where'd you find a quote for 50£ chroming?
£40 + VAT from Hockley Enterprises in Southend (but I'd have to get them there) - http://www.hockleyplaters-southend.co.uk/contact-us
£55-65 + VAT from London Chroming - http://www.londonchroming.co.uk/

They are rivets, and they are a bitch to find and to properly instal. I had the same problem with one of my Gazelle trackframes. Before I had it resprayed, I used a dremel to loosen the headbadge including the rivets, so I can use some kind of glue to fix the thing back. I know it's cheating, but it was the best I could think of :)

If your headbadge would be damaged or you want another one, there are always some up on marktplaats.nl
It's just not always clear where they are.http://link.marktplaats.nl/658199311

Took this down to Herne Hill yesterday. Did the induction like a proper little nodder - rolled up jeans, belt, three jumpers - but really, really enjoyed it. I mean, I've been riding fixed for years but had no idea quite how good it would feel to ride this bike how it was meant to be ridden.*
*Anyone watching may disagree with 'meant to be ridden'...

I was watching!
Lovely looking bike in the flesh. I was on a rusty, dented Harry-O, but still had a great time. I'll introduce myself if I see you there again... -

Apologies, i did indeed drop off the radar. Still have the bars, just need to remove a slightly sticky 600 stem, but if you still want them I could deliver to make up for going AWOL. PM you some pics.

Damn, that's one fine bike. And I don't usually like big frames.
Pity you've gotta be a B.F.G to ride it...

Saw this yesterday as I was leaving the previous session, but you were listening intently to coaches' instructions so I couldn't compliment you on it.
Looks great in the flesh.

That bike is huuuuge! And also quite nice. Some chrome would make it look much better though.

Yeah, the more I look at those forks, the more I feel the need to get them chromed.
I ordered new decals this week from Hlloyd - including Reynolds fork blade stickers. I'll probably get the forks done later this summer. If anyone comes across any other chrome-wallahs, let me know, eh?
Fuck that's nice. Usually I don't fancy big frames as they tend to look out of proportion IMHO but this is very nice. Everything fits nicely, though you're right about chromed fork (or at least painted the same as frame).
