Hi im new to this site, hope to build an SS from a retro frame/bike, anyway,Ive just been on another site, mid last year a poster threw some pics up of a Raleigh special he had aquired, he was after some ID dor it , it appears it was made 1996 for a road racer, he went for a ride at some time locked it with another bike to some railings in the Blackpool area, it got knicked, fellow forum members said they would keep an eye out for it, and spotted it earlier this month on e bay , it seems that another member of that forum had bought it from a bike shop, and then put it up for sale on ebay, when he learned of the theft he removed it from ebay, and they are now trying to sort it out, the cops are being involved, I suppose the original owner is happy he may/willl get his bike back at some time, the other bloke is not happy he may be out of pocket . dont know about the bike shop owner , but he could be out of pocket aswell, dont know how it will turn out, who actually owns it now ? I suppose that if serial number had of been reg/d with the cops it may have have helped, Seeya Steve
