  • Camping if nothing comes up. must be tons of better places to stealth camp than the place previously mentioned. even if crack dealers and harlots are readily available.

    Leigh woods?

  • No free crash space now, barring improbable circumstances. Sorry.

  • Any chance of a show of hands from those arriving on the Friday? Just so we know whether to organise courts / a pub?
    Thanks.

  • We are, although still need to sort out somewhere to stay, not sure 3 of us sleeping in a fiat 500 is a good idea.

  • I am. Not sure about Boges and frax.

  • Coming in Friday morning and would like get in there with some famous warm British beers :P

  • My mate in Bristol says there's (ghetto) camping near the courts, St Werburghs, behind the climbing wall. It sounds like the place that people were discussing earlier - "hippies, trance-mushroom-freaks and cider punks" is how he describes it, which I think presents a whole lot of synergy with the bike polo community.

To me it sounds like a music festival. Except under an inner-city bridge. If there's a bunch of you it'll be fine, surely...?

    This sounds perfect, in.

  • Under the bridge is my spot!!

  • time to fleabay a uber popup survival cammo tent and sleeping back big enough for me and a bike.

  • I'll need to find a good spot to keep my polo bike as well...

  • If you are going to cycle with it, don't get a popup tent, they don't pack down that small... About the same size as a disc wheel.

Getting a single person light tent is a better idea as it'll back down into a bundle you can cycle with.

  • I'd rather carry a slightly lager tent then try to put up a tent crunk.

  • Just spoke to one of the "hippies, trance-mushroom-freaks and cider punks" who does stuff on the site. To his knowledge nothing is organised there next weekend. It's a bit of a climb and level ground is limited.

  • Well if any of the cider punks I know are anything to go on they will be in squats in London (or jail) after celebrating maggots death.

Maggots is my autocorrect, but I like it... I'm thinking of going to her funeral and throwing bottles of milk at the coffin... If I get arrested I may not make Bristol.

  • 35 years too late:(

  • Any chance of a show of hands from those arriving on the Friday? Just so we know whether to organise courts / a pub?
    Thanks.

I'll be arriving Friday night. Probably too late for any polo. The Duke of York is just round the corner from the courts, loads of space out front to lock bikes, good beer, real cider and a skittle alley. I'm Gunna head there unless anyone has a better idea.

  • Will be arriving on Friday.

  • Not that much space at Duke of York for bikes, and when we came out of there last time there were some kids looking suspiciously at our bikes.
That said, it's a nice pub.
Full Moon at the bottom of Stokes Croft has a lot of bike space.

  • ... there were some kids looking suspiciously at our bikes...

It's that fucking saddle of yours.

  • ...or his chainline.

  • For those hoping to camp i've found a campsite in central St Werburghs less than a mile from the court, it's a bit expensive at £10 per head per night but will be great for those who haven't found anywhere to stay yet. Apologies for not having found this sooner but the place is not advertised at all.

I'm going down there tomorrow to meet with the guy and take some photos, there is also cabin accomodation. Not sure of prices at this stage but will update tomorrow. He reckons at least room for 10 small tents.

  • ^ will probably do this, Rich see if you can wang a polo discount?
