Tonight I did this... Sanded down the tubes then got bored, so just lacquered it. In real life it does actually look quite cool as there is a mixture of old paint, clean metal and the lovely brazing. Thinking of lining it a bright red.
Tonight I also stripped the whole bike down, cleaned the BB in swafega, along with the wheel axles, headset and chain, then lubed them all up again using Campagnolo grease and some rather nice chain lube. It runs amazing!
If I did invest any money on this, I know i'd just split it for parts later on, so I'm determined to spend as little as possible. Thinking of spraying the rear rim black, then putting a black tyre on the front.
