  • It's pathetic. The BBC is as weak and supine under Tony Hall as it was under George Entwistle and other recent DG's before him. Again it has caved in to political pressure, with the Mail being complicit in stoking the flames once more.

    They should have said that the charts are are the most purchased songs, played in order, that's it. Nobody can argue the song itself is offensive - it's from a kiddies film!

    It does not need censoring (which is what we're talking about, however they try to frame it).

    It's a shame that an organisation with the history and responsibilities of the BBC doesn't have the organisational balls to stand up to the Government on this. They've also said that they feel that the campaign to make the song chart is distasteful. Well it's great to know that freedom from bias is alive and well at the BBC, isn't it?

    Absolutely pathetic. I'm very glad I don't have a TV licence.
