  • just pulled the trigger on a FinePix F70EXR 129 quid which I think is a pretty decent price could have easily spent another couple of hundred on a compact
the reviews give it high ratings
it'll do as a pocketable point and shoot with some funky bits and pieces if you care to play with the more manual settings
looking forward to seeing the images

  • Just putting a heads up here before making a for sale thread.

Recently acquired a mk.ii so have a 5D mk.i for sale. Body, Canon grip, two Canon batteries, charger, manual and original box (somewhere in the loft) + a 2GB cf card.

Thinking £480 with forum donation included.

  • ANyone got a G9/G10 they'd like to part with?

  • Finally shot with my D7000 for the first time in what feels like months

Was nice to take advantage of that big thing in the sky showing its face

  • Fuck Aperture, realised Sigma isn't supported by Apple either.

Lightroom it is, and finally full control of my Sony RX100 photos.

  • some shit I took with Dom last night

  • bit blurry aren't they
you might want to upgrade your camera

this is your camera this is

  • recommending me a camera that comes with a virus? harsh criticism... :(

  • Wouldn't take that as criticism: I like the uninhibited atmosphere of blurry night shots.

Even though I can get crisp accuracy with the ISO capabilities of my cameras I prefer to get some atmosphere in the pictures I take of polo. Eg:

  • Really nice Snoops.

has anyone had experience of the Fuji X20 yet?

I was joking really after looking at the link, but yeah I agree/it was deliberate here (although I couldn't actually get crisp shots even if I wanted to), certainly not to everyone's taste though. Yours are good!

Originally I was trying to get a shot of the clouds of dust kicked up when he threw the bike around but I couldn't catch it clearly before we started running out of dust...

  • Right, the fool's have given me a credit card.
    new camera time it is.
replacing D40, have a 35mm dx and 18-105dx lenses, so want to keep to Nikon dx body.
budget is £500, previously a D7000 was suggested. I am very close to buying a refurb for under budget, but the D5200 has caught my eye.
reviews seem to be that they are fairly similar (trickle down I guess) dual sd slots and on board AF are tipping the d7000, but the D5200 has some jazz too.
any users of either care to help?

  • D7000

Seperate aperture/shutter dials, custom modes, extra screen, live view and what you mentioned.

    Love mine.

  • Good stuff, D7000 it is!

    Awaits new card

  • Paddington bear, today, at Paddington. But in his yellow coat.

  • OK My holiday is booked and im not doing another holiday using iphone snaps as i was disappointed last time, what good compact or mirrorless camera that will be used on holiday/cycling for £200, and definitely interested in going used for value for money

Olympus E-PL2 has my eye, or something similar

  • First time I've not sent images from my X100 straight to SEP for b&w conversion, not sure if I like colour...

I've been thinking of selling my Olympus XZ-1 if you'd be interested in something like that, I think it would do what you want but do your research and let me know/ask me questions.

  • ^ WIll have a look into it, dont really know enough cameras to know why its that pricey tho aha!

  • A bit murky and didn't quite work out but you can see what I was going for.

  • Just a couple of shots I did for the current edition of The Chap magazine for a feature on pipe smoking. Smoke is fun, if not entirely straightforward, to photograph...

  • You've nailed the smoke right, nice work.

  • Thank you sir. These two models knew what they were doing, which was 80% of getting the shot!
