Hey, I've been donated a rather lovely frame which I think is too lovely for my first bamboo project. As such I will probably get it repaired, so if anybody has anything else that would suit me that would be fantastic!

I was going to say there was a kind chap in Cambridge that has just offered me a dead frame for cutting up on my wanted thread....... but I just checked and its you! Marcfez lives just round the corner from me so I'm going to see if I can pick up his but feel free to contact ffm for his if it looks like it would be useful.
http://www.lfgss.com/thread104576.htmlThanks for the offer, I've replied on the other thread to avoid derailing this one! Mines actually for another hardwood frame. Next generation from my last one after a years worth of riding experience and plenty of research.
Attached photo is a test section of tube that's off to the Oxford uni materials testing lab next week to be smashed up. Its not far off the weight of a Columbus Airplane alu top tube and should, in theory, have a similar stiffness and dent resistance. Full bike to follow......

yeah, the one I have is pretty crap, not suitable for me as the bottom bracket shell is an odd size and it is bent slightly. Probably not worth your while either tbh, I just thought I would mention it. I might see if ffm feels like posting but I doubt it, and I can't get to london!
Did you make that tube yourself? -

Yup, I had to make a whole new set of guides for my router table to enable me to build such a thin wall thickness without breaking it. The inside of the tube is where the really fiddly bits are!

the most complex tool I own is a file so I think I'll stick to bamboo for now ;)

I have a couple of crashed frames you can have, I'm in bristol though.

Wardy obviously gets first dibs as its his thread but are either of them aluminium frames? If so I'll put in second dibs. I'm in Bristol for Bespoked on Saturday.

I have three steel frames, 1 is 56cm 531 I want to weld a crack on but I know in my heart of hearts I can't be arsed. 1 is a 60cm? dawes frame that isn't 531. And a 56cm orbit gold medal which is double triangle 532st, which some fuckers bent the seat stays on trying to steal it.

My grandparents live near Bristol, I could see if they feel brave enough to meet up with you for me! Either one of the 56cm ones would be great, don't suppose you have a pic? Thanks ever so much!
Hi guys, I've been looking to build a bamboo bike for a while (I know they're anti/heavy etc). I have almost finished all my other projects, so the time is upon me. I need a frame to base it off though, as I don't have the tools/skill to make one otherwise. I essentially need a frame with these parts salvageable: Headtube, bottom bracket, dropouts. I am in cambridge but will pay for the postage and hassle! I'll consider almost anything, although I am hoping someone has a nice track frame in about 56-58 that they've mangled somehow.
Cheers!
Nic
