• Police were called at 12.50pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013 after a collision involving a Ford KA and a cyclist on Bromley Road.
    The cyclist, a 73-year-old man from Colchester, sadly died at the scene of the collision which happened at the junction with Slough Lane.

    The male driver of the blue Ford KA and his female passenger were uninjured.

    The road was closed until around 5.30pm to allow a full investigation of the crash scene to take place.

  • I passed a old guy on a lovely old blue racer near to Colchester on the BHF Cam to coast ride (a few hours earlier).

    He gave me a nod and great big smile, there were lots of riders out, but he really stood out...
