Edwardz the electric bike trend in NL is quite new, when I was a teenager (too long ago) you wouldn't want to be seen dead on one, they were specifically for geriatrics.
But they seem to have become popular among commuters that don't want to arrive tired/sweaty (might not have showers at work)
I really cannot see myself on one though, unless my health is so bad I can't ride a normal cycle anymore.
