I've one clamp-on SR front derailleur of the bay with clear chain rub in cage. Early 80s
And one braze-on I can't use, that has a near perfect cage. Also early 80s.
Size, pins etc look the same to my untrained eye. Both have a lip, no date, same size, same nr of holes etc.
So to me it looks I can take them off and swap them over per:

However, how hard are the peening pins that hold the cages in place to get? In case it all goes horribly wrong. Never done this before.
