Hi
Remember that green Merckx i showed you?
There is intrest in the frame, so if you would be intrested in the gruppo i could split the bike. Let me know Regards
Kay
right, ladies and gents.......
I am about to make my first real move into geared bikes, so....I need one. I have been keeping an eye out but nothing has been jumping out at me. What I am after is a decent steel frame, ideally something from the 90s era which should be a fairly good grade steel with no dents or dings, not massively bothered by paint condition at this stage, should have braze ons for down tube shifters, clamp on front mech preferable, and internally routed cable routing on the top tube (no functional / practical reason, I just like it like that), could be a nice english frame or something european
as for size, top tube should be about 54cm c-c im thinking, have ridden larger for track and is fine but with ergo shifters its a bit of a stretch, so think 54cm is about right for me at 5'10. seat tube can be 54-56cm c-c
after ideally a full bike, but happy to look at options with frame / groupset / wheels separately........
as for groupset and wheels, would like some decent condition mid / higher range campagnolo in silver and classic looking but not too old and not too modern, just right. should be good condition if possible, and probably after 9 or 10 speed with ergo shifters, would like to have complete groupset, or as close as possible and would like campag hubs and a decent set of silver rims ideally. dont mind a few marks as long as it functions perfectly well and will last.
pricewise, happy to look at options but not after budget rubbish and not after super modern ££ bling either
so, whats out there?
thanks a bunch in advance and apologies in advance for stupid questions about gearing etc!
