No worse than using a 1" fork in a 1" head tube, but you'll need a http://chrisking.com/headsets/hds_devo and that only woks with conventional head tubes, not integrated. That Dolan comes with a fork anyway. Also consider a Planet X Uncle John if you're thinking about an aluminium CX frame, currently on offer at £245 - £295 (depending on size) with fork and headset.
