  • This summer I'm going to attempt doing a slow meandering tour up the Grand Union canal and down again by a slightly different route, and a few other leisurely trips, health permitting.

It's because of my health that I haven't done this before, but also why I so badly need this to work out, as I want to prove to myself more than anyone else that I can get out of the rut sometimes, have fun doing so and NOT end up confined to bed by the second day in, even if I probably will end up in bed for most of a week once returned!

I'll be getting a frame bag made up by BikePack to keep center of gravity as low and central as possible, and debating using one of their saddle bags as a light bar bag.

Now can anyone recommend a decent touring rack and possible panniers?

Pack needs to be good for maybe around 25kg?

I really don't know what to take yet, but do want to camp where possible, so need things to be as light as possible (within reason), while still allowing a leisurely pace and to enjoy the trip.
