  • Bit of a dredge. I'm in the same boat. Have read (Sheldon) that tapers are actually JIS as the Japanese 'borrowed' the French/TA size which became JIS.
So I need 111.5 JIS unfortunately in a French thread.

    Need a TA 314.

it won't work. i've tried a shimano 113mm JIS and the cranks wouldn't even spin. i've also tried a miche 115mm ISO, it turned fine but as it's assymetrical, one side was way out.
you should try an axle with the approximate desired length and use french cups with it (english and french bb shells are both 68mm). you have to get the thickness of the cups right though... it's a pain!
if you have the chance, try a 113mm or 115mm ISO like campa or gpm, i'm convinced it should work (0,75mm or 1,75mm above the chainline, imho it's not a big deal).
please update this thread if you do try.
i have this for sale if you're interested:

but i'd rather sell the whole thing...
    good luck!
