Lovely frame... Is that a tapered headtube, or am I seeing things?
-
• #4
No not tapered. Just straight 1 1/8". Just wandering does anyone have any experience with the deda drittissimo seatpost?
-
• #5
Looks tapered anyway... Nice frame set!

Nope definitely not tapered.
Should be ordering the parts soon! -

Very nice look frameset, love the smooth welds. Looks like good fun. Glad to see you have stuck good modern components on there, enjoy!

Yea those welds do make me happy I have to say. The groupset choice was more a case of what I have than anything else (and I like shimano!)
It is 9kg as is with the worlds heaviest wheels not helping that figure. Im hoping for about 8.5kg with the wheels that will go on eventually. I don't think thats too bad considering the 105/tiagra mix

And you've got a chin rest for when you're really putting the hammer down.

That is going this weekend. Dont have a carbon saw/cutting guide so am going to take it to LBK to get that sorted.

First ride on it today. It handles quick! Slow speed is a bit twitchy, but once you get it up to about 15/20mph it is really stable and feels great

Replacement rim (stans alpha 340) arrived today, so I thought I would have a go at lacing it. I had another 3 cross wheel which I used as a reference and I think it turned out ok. Its not tensioned, dished or and of that sort yet. Was thinking of taking it to a shop to make sure that is done properly and to check my lacing.
Then on with the light wheels which should make this bike a properly lovely ride.
So I recently brought a De Rosa team. I think its a 2004/5 model (if anyone knows any different please share). Aluminum with a full carbon fork.
The plan is to build it up to use as a race bike/fair weather ride. The groupset and wheels are coming off my current bike to try and keep costs down.
