There will undoubtedly be an advantage of playing with a mallet that shape, I'm sure there will be disadvantages too. If you don't receive the ball directly in the middle, will it rebound forwards or backwards, or will it actually gather the ball exactly where you want it? I'm curious.
I'd like to see how they hold up to a heavy player leaning on their mallet. With only the ends contacting the ground, I'd be worried that the mallet may warp resulting in a striking surface that is not parallel to the grip.
I'm sure we'll get some reviews soon. Are they legal? Who knows. What're the rules again?
