@telescope i may be buying the Dolan 56cm full track bike that you might have seen advertised on the site. just asking for some advise, would they make a good conversion to a road bike for everyday bombing around on? I'm thinking its gonna be like getting a really snazzy fixie but don't know much about actual racing track bikes...? thanks

dgarland90 - i'm afraid to tell you that it'd be pretty darn hard to convert this bike to a geared bike.. trying to get any form of cassette/freehub between the rear forks, trying to attach a rear derailleur, messing around with cables, drilling (carbon!!) for brakes.. the list goes on.. will all cause you much trouble and more than likely ruin a rather nice track frame.. conversions are common in the other direction.. i.e. road/geared to track/fixed.. but not so common in the way that you have asked.. all made more tricky by the fact this is carbon.. hope this has helped..!

I'm not sure that's what dgarland means... I think they might just mean 'will it be suitable for riding on the road'.

and thanks for pointing that out - i misinterpreted his query..! just trying to help a brother out before he buys a full carbon track bike thinking he might be able to gear it up and ride it like a roadie..

Is the frame set still for sale?

Posting next week is fine. I won't be able to make it to London next week as I'm at work all week. How much would it all cost in total? Including postage. Also do you have any photos close up of frame? Only ask to see what the wear and tear is like.
