Haha, no worries about the contradiction...I want and don't want spds for contradicting reasons! I'm currently running brakeless but think I may have to pop a front one on at some point, going to try without and see how I get on though

Yeah I've heard of people running spds and brakeless absolutely fine, just doesn't work for me. I like to go fast too, and think straps would feel a bit too loose after having ridden clipless for years.
