• I unfortunately have to let it go...

It's in great overall condition, bought on eBay from a South London based professional photographer which looked well after it but ended up using films more often.

The camera is a beast, ridiculously compact and well built, simple and intuitive interface and controls, fast sharp lens, shoots RAW, settings and shooting modes closer to a SLR than a compact camera. It served me more than well since I owned it last summer, I'm only letting it go as I'm funding for a digital Leica.
Here's the most complete review of this camera available: http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2011/01/22/the-ricoh-gr-digital-iii-review/
    Ricoh official: http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/gr/gr_digital3/

Everything works as it should, the lens is free from scratch or fungus and has been well looked after. The only thing is to mention is that the screen has some kind of marks due to the use of a wrong cleaning product by the previous owner. It's only visible when the screen is turned off though and is barely noticeable when it's on. It never had any issue with using the screen as it's also free from scratches or any pixel damages.

It comes with original box, manual and all accessories. Plus a SanDisk Extreme Pro 16GB SDHC I card and card reader, Sigma optical viewfinder and a Lowepro pouch.

Looking for £250 for the lot. Happy to ship. Open to any sensible offers.
I can email sample pictures and/or photos of the camera on request.

  • I had a Ricoh GRDII (until I dropped it on its lens) and it was absolutely brilliant. If I had the money I would buy this in an instant; it really is that good.

  • damn... want want. may get at you soon

  • really sweet bit of kit. best of luck with the sale and to the new owner

  • thanks guys - brilliant piece of kit indeed! very VERY reluctant to put it for sale, but I can't justify keeping this alongside my upgrade...unfortunately. It's a shame these are quite rare and hard to find nowadays, one of the best compact camera around from the last few years.

I'm looking for a quick sale on this one, so will leave it on here for the week but will put it on eBay/Gumtree this weekend if no serious interest.

  • hump day price drop bump - now £260 for the lot

Grab yourself a bargain on a truly fantastic and hard to find camera! Before I feed it to the wolves on eBay...

  • Great camera, I've taken this on a hot , sweaty and dusty tour and dropped it many times. Held up perfectly.

  • Lovely thing. Had the original GRD for yonks but just didn't give it the use it deserved. I hope it finds an appropriate home.

  • +1 for GRD. I have a GRD1, dropped it onto the open lens, no problem. Great camera. Ricoh actually went out of their way to make a camera that would appeal to 35mm fans knowing it would not be as much of a commercial success as a more mainstream camera.

  • This looks like a great "go everywhere" camera. I'm going to be spending 3 months travelling through South America soon, this may fit the bill for a stealth, easy to carry, shoot in every situation camera. Will do some reading and get back to you.
How does it do getting landscapes in?

  • HI lowpug, sorry for the late reply been away for the weekend.
The camera is ideal for some backpacking holidays, I used it in Mexico for a couple of months and it was perfect - small, easy to carry, solid and always producing high quality snaps (I'd say the results in RAW are closer to a DSLR than a compact camera).

Excellent for landscapes as the lens is a 28mm. Never felt a wider or narrower lens would be an improvement, great for all situation from landscapes to street photography, as well as some macro works too.

Let me know what you think, I can email you some landscapes or other samples images if that can maybe help?

  • And here is for the final price drop: now £250!

  • Oh my god - if this is still here on payday (week on Thursday) then I'll take it. Bloody perfect camera for me!

  • Stll here for now - here is a link to some unprocessed JPEG samples taken with the camera.

Not the greatest shots but gives an idea of the low light/overall performances.

  • such a dope camera, have a bump

  • now sold! thanks hoefla
