Need a little help if possible. I'm contemplating a black cog for my Pre Cursa build but it has to be a bolt on. This is what I'm thinking.
Option 1. Get a Velosolo 7075 bolt on track cog - Easiest option but I'm worried it won't last long and they don't come with the old for new guarantee that the steel ones do.
Option 2. Get a Velosolo steel cog, get the chrome playing removed and get it black oxide plated or something similar - Probably the best option performance wise but potentially way expensive and would void the guarantee.
Option 3. Get a Velosolo steel cog and get it powder coated (I'm getting a load of other stuff done) - Might have to remove the coating from the edges of the teeth before use and I'm still not sure I wouldn't have problems with the chain sticking. Maybe using a 3/32" cog and 1/8" chain would help. Would also void the guarantee.
Option 4. Get a Velosolo steel cog and just stick some black sticky vinyl on it - Cheapest option and it wouldn't mess with the guarantee but probably get chewed up round the teeth pretty quickly.
Anyone got any thoughts or experience with any of the above?
