Proper selvedge jeans

I am six weeks into a pair of Albams which I like just fine. I was hoping to get well past the suggested six months before washing of any sort, but I have just been unsuccessful in dodging a torrent of baby sick. How to get the sick out but keep as much of the indigo in as possible? Soak in bath? Cold machine wash? Help, please.

I've had two pair of Albams and washed one pair after 6 months and they stayed nice, kept a lot of colour etc. I wouldn't worry too much about washing them, or at least soaking
