It has been done many times and increasingly at the agitation of the authorities. It's now advised that, if you want to do it, that you do it in the dead of night before road closing pocedures begin.
Also the organisers of the London marathon know very well that it's the LFGSS lot that organised previous events.
Probably best not to take the thread any further.

(Note that that event was moved from the morning of the marathon after a request from the organisers because of safety concerns)

Perhaps benjam is right, but could it not be the case that something like this could be organised with the marathon organisers and police's knowledge? I guess that's almost certainly a tonne more work than it sounds like it would be, though.
I, too, enjoyed the thread about the LA ride and would love to get involved with something like this, given half a chance.
Anyhow, probably best to not discuss here regardless...

I don't know. Last I heard it was a BikeRadar/Evans cycles Midnight Sportiv Crash Race. Fully supported of course but the £55 entry fee is putting me off. Free bidons full of Thames water and CR2032 batteries for your single Knog are tempting offers but I dunno. I may also be on my honeymoon. Will have a think because 'crash races' are as rare and precious as true love.

Pffft, "honeymoon.."
You lightweight, call yourself a hardened fixie skidderz of London's famous London.
(Give a call if you and the good lady have a gap for some supper before the main event)

Oooh, I fancy a bit of that - even at £55.
If anyone hears about/finds out more, do stick a link in here...

The £55 seems to include a compulsory jersey buy which must be worn by all ride participants. Looks like a heavily branded one with golden arches on the back and shoulders. Also the sign up includes a media release so I'm guessing that parts of the ride will be filmed and you will feature in a burger commercial.

Wow, that is one whooper of a lie.
You should be ashamed of yourself, misleading the innocent newbies of the forum.

Haha, cheers Bernie.
Any truth in the rumours that the next Guiness ride will be sponsored by Coors Light?

That is a top secret matter that I am not at liberty to discuss.
You are going to have to come out on Friday, 26th April to see, Bud...
Has anyone ever considered or has it been tried, a pre London Marathon Crash race?
Much like...
LA Marathon Crash Race
I dont understand the legality of this but is it possible?
