I've been dealing with Patrick over email for the past few weeks and got a very considered reply to my post here, including reiterating an invitation he'd made to come to his workshop to see the parts and test the solution.
He's clearly very confident in the system, and has spent a lot of time developing and refining it - looks like the real deal.
Now to work out what to protect...
