Antonio 41.06
Julia 48.40
Matt 54.26
Final score: Dark & Stormy 14, Doughballs 9
A hectic first half, with a determined D&S clocking up seven without reply before Doughballs marshalled their resources, digging deep to bring back three in a row, then three more. D&S were playing high but getting away with it and got the best of the last five minutes to take it to 11-6. Second half was equally keen but tighter play kept the numbers down, both teams scoring only three apiece in 30 minutes, and two final goals from Julia's babies could not close the gap.
Top game all round with everyone trying to work to each other's strengths. Antonio's calm possession and eye for the net was a big part of the win but MVP goes to Nik for tireless hassle, cleaning duties and constant backhand diagonals that opened the court for well-placed team mates.
Lovely clean game, reffed by Louis but I did the paperwork, so there.
