Hey I'm selling my old trusty mac and venturing into waters unknown with a new retina machine.
This is the early 2008 15" MacBook Pro with anti-glare display.
2.5 intel core 2 duo, 500Gb HD, 4GB Ram.
Overall general condition is great for the age, some slight scratches to the casing but I've looked after it very well. I know everyone says this but you will find it hard to get another one like this in the same condition.
Good things:
It has had a new logic board from Apple about 6 months ago (there was a common problem with the graphics card). This repair costs about £425.
I also had the battery replaced about a month ago as well, this has only had 38 cycle counts. Thats another £100 you won't need to spend.
I upgraded the ram to 4GB and also fitted a 500GB WD Scorpio Black HD which is 7200rpm and has a 5 year manufacturers warranty.
The machine will come with a fresh install of 10.8 Mountain Lion along with iLife 11 and the latest version of iWork.
The not so good things:
The optical drive can be a bit noisy when loading and playing discs. I took it apart last year and gave it a good clean but it didn't make much difference. I never really use it so wasn't bothered but it might put you off if all you do is plan to use it as a DVD player.
It is fully boxed and comes with the power adaptor and cable. I might even be able to throw in another spare lead if I can find one lying around.
I would like £450 for it. I live in Brighton but quite happy to arrange collection in London.
I haven't yet ordered my replacement machine so this will be available as soon as that turns up and I've transferred the data across.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot
> Quote text by starting lines with >
Mention another user by @username
For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:
```
Your code goes here
Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
If you upload more than 5 files we will display all attachments as thumbnails.
